Lake Plastira: an artificial lake 800 metres built in the spectacular Agrafa Mountains. The unspoiled villages of Mesenikolas, Bezoula, Neohori and Kastania where one can find rooms to rent for overnight stays, as well as the summer resort of Neraida. Near the Megdova dam, the surrounding area is lush, full of oak trees, sycamores and firs. Tiny and picturesque villages set among the woods near the lake; each one has its own individual charm.
The area is a developing tourist attraction, as is ideal for an assortment of activities: walking and climbing, rowing, swimming, sailing, mountain cycling etc. The countryside around the prefecture has many sights and villages to explore at your leisure. Mesenicolas and Morphovouni are two very beautiful and historic villages. The view of the gorge from Filakti is astounding and it is worth visiting the well-preserved monastery of The Holy Trinity.
