Beaches in the region

Beaches: The prefecture has many beaches, some beaches are pebbly or a mixture of pebbles and sand. Whilst many are long sandy beaches with all amenities ideal for sunbathing and children usually near the major tourist resorts, others more secluded, where one can relax far away from the maddening crowds.

Agios Nikolaos the beaches in the town are pebbly and filled to capacity; the beach at Alymyros is better.
